Indonesian CSI

The Indonesia Clean Stove Initiative (CSI) is a collaborative effort between the Directorate General of New Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources ofIndonesia, and the World Bank. It aims to scale up access to clean and efficient cooking in Indonesia, with focus on the 40% population who still rely on traditional biomass for cooking.
To support the CSI, a pilot program is being launched with the following objectives: to pilot the Results Base Financing (RBF) approach and to generate lessons learned for the future national scale-up that aims to achieve universal access to clean cooking in Indonesia
The design of the pilot program's results-based financing approach includes selecting eligible stoves for promotion based on a trial stove performance assessment system, allocating performance-base incentives, and implementing a monitoring and verification system. A public campaign will be conductedto raise awareness and stimulate demand for clean cooking technology. Advisory services related tostove designs, technology and marketing will also be available to assist stove producers and designers.
